Terms of Service

Last updated 11 August 2026 · Applies to MeatXpress (Meat Express Private Limited)

These terms govern your use of the MeatXpress app and this website. By placing an order you agree to them. If you do not, please do not use the service.

1. Who we are, and what we do

MeatXpress (Meat Express Private Limited) operates a marketplace that connects customers in Silchar with independent local meat and fish shops, and arranges delivery using our own riders.

We do not own the shops and we do not own the goods. The partner shop is the seller of the products you order. We provide the platform, the delivery, and customer support.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 and capable of entering a contract. You must give a working phone number and an accurate delivery address inside our service area.

3. Your account

Accounts are created with a phone number and a one-time SMS code. You are responsible for keeping access to that number secure, and for activity on your account. Tell us immediately if you think someone else is using it.

4. Placing an order

Products are shown by weight and cut. When you place an order it is offered to a partner shop; the contract of sale forms when that shop accepts it. A shop may decline an order — most often because it has run out of the cut you asked for or cannot prepare it within its hours.

Because meat and fish are cut to order, the delivered weight may vary slightly from the weight ordered. Where it does, the bill reflects what was actually supplied.

5. Prices, fees and payment

  • Prices are set by the partner shop and are shown in the app before you confirm.
  • Delivery is a flat ₹30 within our Silchar service area, shown separately on your bill.
  • Payment is cash on delivery only. You pay the rider when the order reaches you. We do not accept online payment, and we never ask for card or bank details.
  • Any minimum order value is shown at checkout before you confirm.

6. Delivery

We deliver within our published Silchar service area, during our stated hours (00:00–23:59).

Any time estimate shown in the app is an estimate, not a guarantee. Your order is prepared only after it is placed, so preparation time varies with the cut and how busy the shop is. Traffic, weather and local conditions affect delivery.

Someone must be available at the delivery address to receive the order and pay. If nobody is reachable after the rider has attempted contact, the order may be cancelled as an undelivered order — see the Refund and Cancellation policy.

7. Inspecting your order

Check the order at your door before paying. If the cut is wrong, the weight is short, or it does not look fresh, you may refuse all or part of it and pay nothing for what you refuse. This is the main reason we launched with cash on delivery.

8. Cancellation and refunds

Cancellation rights depend on whether the shop has begun cutting your order. The full detail is in our Refund and Cancellation policy, which forms part of these terms.

9. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • place orders you do not intend to accept or pay for;
  • give a false name, phone number or delivery address;
  • abuse, threaten or harass a rider, a shop or our support staff;
  • attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer or gain unauthorised access to the service;
  • resell products bought through the platform as a commercial operation.

We may suspend or close an account that does these things, including for repeated refusal of delivered orders without cause.

10. The app

The app is distributed as an Android package file downloaded from this website. Install it only from meatxpress.in; we publish a SHA-256 checksum on the download page so you can verify the file. We are not responsible for modified builds obtained anywhere else.

The app is in beta. Features may change, and it may occasionally be unavailable while we deploy updates.

11. Product information

We take care to describe products accurately, but photographs are illustrative and the item you receive will vary naturally, as fresh produce does. If you have a dietary, religious or allergy requirement — including halal preparation, which varies by shop — confirm it with us or with the shop before ordering, because we cannot guarantee it across every partner.

12. Liability

The partner shop is responsible for the products it sells and for their preparation and hygiene. We are responsible for the platform and for the delivery we perform.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The "last updated" date at the top will change, and continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.

14. Governing law and grievances

These terms are governed by the laws of India, with courts at Silchar, Assam having jurisdiction.

Grievance officer: Salman Barbhuiya — salmankurshid2@gmail.com. We respond within 30 days, as required by the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020.
